the challenge
Revel found themselves struggling with using several unintegrated systems for many of their crucial processes. Sales members ran into difficulty in booking dates, times and venues for events as teams were required to manually check for overbooking, which slowed the process and caused frustration. Internal communications occurred verbally or via email or text, making tracking communication and collaboration very challenging. Event updates were not always available in all systems being used, so fulfilling and selling events became cumbersome without a full view of the details. In addition, customer information was often duplicated in the various systems, sometimes with conflicting information. Analytics were a challenge for the management team as data was generated and stored in numerous separate systems, and had to be combined manually in order to interpret results.
the solution
Synegen configured Sales Cloud to fit Revel’s needs, including custom objects and fields, record types, business automation, and 3rd party apps, among other features. The Sales Cloud was able to assist in data integration between sales systems and 3rd Party Catering systems. This was especially helpful after Synegen migrated all historic and current accounts, contacts, venues, and opportunities over to Sales Cloud from the previous systems, as well as included the management team in centralized reporting. Synegen also created new pipeline and forecasting reports, as well as a new dashboard. Sales members were transferred onto the Sales Cloud and Chatter for improved engagement and collaboration. Sales and fulfillment teams are now given a 360° view of events now that they are connected through Sales Cloud and integrated 3rd Party Catering systems. Notifications were automated to deliver fulfillment updates, changes, and cancellations to all involved teams.
the result
With the integration of Salesforce with the existing 3rd Party Catering system, Revel has sold and fulfilled over 2,000 events. Overbooking and under-booking of resources and space have been reduced now that Sales and Fulfillment have a 360° view of event details and better insight for bookings. Management is better able to analyze data and gain insights into operational performance and scheduling gaps. Revel has moved forward further to integrate an additional 3rd Party Catering system for a secondary business group.
